Name:High Billinge Bowl Barrow

Summary

High Billinge round barrow is a Scheduled Monument. It is 30 metres across and about 2 metres high. There are no visible remains of a ditch and there are trees on the top.

Round barrows are a type of burial mound, particularly used in the Bronze Age. Mounds of earth and stone were placed over a burial or cremation. A single barrow could be re-used for several later burials.
