Summary

Tatton Old Hall is a Grade II* listed building. It is the former manor house of Egerton family. An inventory of 1614 mentions the Parlor, Greate Parlor, Greate Chamber, Chapell Chamber, Kytchyn Chamber, Chamber next to Kytchyn Chamber,Brewhouse and Buttery. Also a Work House (which may be a a workshop),a Kiln & a Mill. The present house is L-shaped and consists of the Old Hall wing and a Tudor wing. It dates from the late 15th / early 16th century with 17th - 20th century additions and alterations. It is built of brick with stone slate roof though the old Hall wing was originally timber framed. The timber was replaced with brickwork in late 17th early 18th century.

The ground below the old hall is a Scheduled Monument.
