Name:Stanlow Abbey Cistercian monastery and monastic grange

Summary

Scheduled Monument site of Stanlow Abbey has the remains of a farmstead begun around 1750. The buildings are of brick on stone foundations and incorporate some fragments of the grange buildings and re-used monastic masonry. These buildings were levelled in the 1950's but stiill stand several courses high.
